Any examiner you hire should have graduated from an American Polygraph Association accredited school. The examiner should have completed a field study project and completed an internship with an experienced examiner. They should be a member of the American Polygraph Association APA and the California Association of Polygraph Examiners (CAPE). Any examiner you hire should use only validated techniques listed by the American Polygraph Association and work with a properly calibrated instrument.
There are many talented and qualified polygraph examiners working in California. We recommend you conduct research with CAPE and APA to determine examiner qualifications.
The cost of the polygraph examination should be your last consideration. Don't base your decision to hire an examiner on the cost alone. Hire the right person who will do a the best job for you.
We recommend at least six hours of sleep prior to the polygraph test with a light meal. Please, no alcohol, drug use or hangovers 48 hours prior to the test. Please come rested and advise us if you are taking medication that may affect the outcome of the test. Help us help you, in this regard.
